Layered structure transformations and exfoliation of h-BN during thermal cycling

نویسندگان

چکیده

Understanding structural transformation of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) at elevated temperatures is critical to obtain 2D-h-BN through thermal exfoliation. Therefore, in situ x-ray diffraction data are collected from h-BN powders while subjecting them a cycle. The potential define the structure order during temperature variations revealed by using an index (I 3D ). It was that no direct correlation with degree exfoliation layered and change appeared cycling. Furthermore, particle size dependence under also mapped.

Thermal Conductance of the 2D MoS2/h-BN and graphene/h-BN Interfaces

Two-dimensional (2D) materials and their corresponding van der Waals heterostructures have drawn tremendous interest due to their extraordinary electrical and optoelectronic properties. Insulating 2D hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) with an atomically smooth surface has been widely used as a passivation layer to improve carrier transport for other 2D materials, especially for Transition Metal Dic...

Exfoliation of layered rutile and perovskite tungstates.

The layered trirutile phases HMWO6 (M = Nb, Ta) and the layered perovskite H2W2O7 (synthesized by acid leaching of Bi2W2O9) were exfoliated into nanoscale colloids by reaction with quaternary ammonium hydroxides.

Energetics and Electronic Structure of h-BN Nanoflakes

We studied the energetics and electronic structure of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) nanoribbons with hydrogenated and clean edges with respect to the detailed edge shapes using density functional theory. Our calculations showed that the stability of h-BN edges strongly depends on the edge termination. In the case of hydrogenated edges, the formation energy is constant for all edge angles rangi...

Temperature Dependence of Raman-Active In-Plane E2g Phonons in Layered Graphene and h-BN Flakes

Thermal properties of sp2 systems such as graphene and hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) have attracted significant attention because of both systems being excellent thermal conductors. This research reports micro-Raman measurements on the in-plane E2g optical phonon peaks (~ 1580 cm-1 in graphene layers and ~ 1362 cm-1 in h-BN layers) as a function of temperature from - 194 to 200 °C. The h-BN fl...

In situ study of atomic structure transformations of Pt-Ni nanoparticle catalysts during electrochemical potential cycling.

When exposed to corrosive anodic electrochemical environments, Pt alloy nanoparticles (NPs) undergo selective dissolution of the less noble component, resulting in catalytically active bimetallic Pt-rich core-shell structures. Structural evolution of PtNi6 and PtNi3 NP catalysts during their electrochemical activation and catalysis was studied by in situ anomalous small-angle X-ray scattering t...
